women

Welcome to Women’s Ministry at Murray First!  We seek to connect women with God and each other so that we can grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, grow in relationship with other women of the church, and serve our community with love.

Women’s Bible Studies:  We strive to offer a variety of Bible studies and discipleship opportunities for women throughout the year.  Check back frequently and watch the bulletin and eNews for these opportunities.

United Women in Faith:  United Women in Faith (corporately known as United Methodist Women) is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members around the world whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders, and advocating for justice.  At Murray First, we offer 3 different UWF circles for women of all ages. All gatherings are designed for social connection, spiritual exploration, and community engagement. To find out more about the global chapter of UWF visit the organization's website.

Friendship-Hannah Circle – Third Monday, 6:30 PM
Chairpersons: Debra Fannin and Sally Hopkins
Room: Usually meets in the CLC Conference Room at the Church
Designed especially for older working and retired women who cherish social connections, spiritual exploration, and community engagement. Our circle is a sanctuary where wisdom and life experiences are shared, cherished, and celebrated. Whether you're still active in the workforce or savoring retirement, you'll find kindred spirits here who understand the joys and challenges of this stage of life.

Hope Circle – Third Sunday, 5:00 PM
Chairpersons: Charlsie Williams and Kendra Shemwell
Room: Usually meets in CLC 204 Classroom at the Church
Designed for younger women who are both married and unmarried, some balancing the joys of motherhood, with a desire for social connections, spiritual exploration, and community engagement. We recognize the significance of fostering friendships, finding support, and cultivating companionship as we each deepen our spiritual paths.

We are committed to giving back to our community, making it an integral part of our mission. Beyond our regular meetings focused on spiritual learning and growth, we actively engage with various non-profit organizations. By learning about their impactful work within our community and volunteering alongside them, we strive to spread love and goodness while making a meaningful difference.

Join us as we embrace the diverse facets of womanhood and navigate life's journey together, united in our dedication to personal growth, community service, and spiritual enrichment. Together, we inspire each other to live with purpose, compassion, and a shared commitment to positively impact the world around us.
